This scarf features a simple Fair Isle pattern inspired by the traditional Faroese pattern, Opna stjørna (Open star), but with the Shetland tradition of combining colours in a blend and a contrast, moving from dark to light and from light to dark. The colours chosen are inspired by the way the haar (sea fog) mutes the landscape it rolls over and makes all contours blend into each other. The Shaetlan word gravit means ‘scarf’. The scarf is knitted in jumperweight but in the round, which makes for a nice, cosy fabric that will keep you warm in the cold season. Finished dimensions ca 193x20 cm.
