The pattern for this shawl was inspired by the heather in bloom tumbling down the Uradale hills. The pattern is based on the traditional Shetland lace patterns Cat’s Paw, which resembles the tiny heather flower clusters, and Spider’s Web, which symbolises the intricate tangle of branches of the heather shrub. The colour scheme and pattern is playfully asymmetrical, symbolising the gently asymmetrical colours and slopes of the heather hills. It is knitted in JW yarn.
