This stole is named after my sister Aruna Carmina, and features two traditional Shetland motifs: the leaf on the outer larger stripes and the peerie flooer (small flower) on the thinner inner stripes. It also plays with both blending and contrast: the colours of the leaves blend with each other, while the colours of the flowers contrast with each other. The stole is inspired by the tender young flowers in late spring and early summer that were in full bloom when I was home in Sweden in May. The long fringes give it a kind of weight and makes it fall better on the body.
The stole is knitted horizontally, in jumperweight yarn and 4mm needles.
