This poncho is dedicated to my mother, Aina, who used to wear beautiful natural white aran knitwear. The poncho is seamless, knitted in one piece, from the top down. It features a bulky rib collar, worn either open or closed as a turtleneck, a shaped body with a structured pattern and the front and back longer than the sides, and a traditional mesh fringe found on old Fair Isle scarves. It is knitted in aran weight yarn.
